2014/15 AGM Review

In moving the adoption of the Annual Report, both the mover Neale Anderson, seconder Nigil Singh and the chairman David Holland made reference to Simon Katich's emotional article about the late Phillip Hughes, our recognition of those cricketer's who served in World War 1, the matches against Cricket Ireland and the Cricket Club of India, our imposing list of volunteers, the increasing number and value of our sponsors as well as our healthy financial position. Each also spoke of the high quality of the annual report extending appreciation for their work to club historian Lyall Gardner, statisticians John Stewart and Ray Stafford, along with Jarryd Biviano for his graphics design.

Marshall Rosen (NSW Cricket Association) and Craig Hambleton (Sydney Cricket Association) were also present and commented on the Annual Report and the club's progress while giving a run-down of their association's plans for the coming season.

The 16 people associated with the club who passed away during the past 12 months and referred to in the obituary section of the Annual Report were also recognised with a minutes silence by the 60-70 in attendance.

Peter Swan from Bendigo Bank also addressed the meeting outlining his organisation's sponsorship plans and a number of new products which will be of benefit to members.

The proposed amendments to the club's constitution were adopted unanimously.

After the annual awards a special presentation was made to John Stewart for his organisation and management (along with John McLoughlin) of the Cricket Ireland match and the week of activities leading up to it. Anthony Sams as the Man of the Match also received a special Waterford Chrystal award. Local Federal Member Matt Thistlethwaite was also present and thanked the club on behalf of the community for the promotion and conduct of the event.

A presentation was also made to Grant Rimmer who retired as a player after 22 seasons with Randwick Petersham and Randwick.

Consistency in the management of the club has been a strength since Randwick Petersham came into being in 2001 and that is set to continue in the approaching 2015-16 season with only two changes this year. David Townsend who has taken up a position in England retired from the Management Committee after 14 years while Anyes McLean withdrew after four years as our first female elected committee member. We are grateful for the wonderful service provided to the club by David and Anyes and wish them well for the future. Peter Devlin (previously an Appointed Member) and Robin Gardner were elected in their stead.

The Office-Bearers for 2015-16 are:

Patron: Alan Turner (7th term)
Chief Executive: David Holland (7th term)
Asst. CEO: David Bourke (4th term)
Fin. Controller: James Tyson (4th term)
Asst. Fin. Controller: Nigil Singh (7th term)
SCA and NSWCA Delegate: Peter Wright (15th term)
Committee: Alan Wright (15th term), Bill Anderson (8th term), Neale Anderson (7th term), Peter Devlin (7th term), Robin Gardner (1st term)
Hon. Auditor: John Stephens (1st term)

The committee will consider in due course up to three appointments with Chris Sullivan and John Stewart likely candidates.

Director of Cricket Operations Bill Anderson and New coach Greg Small also addressed the meeting outlining plans for season 1915-16 which is bound to be an exciting one for Randwick Petersham.
